Team Anna is anti-UPA rather than anti-corruption
This refers to the report Team Anna defends comments on PM (May 30). Citing portions of a draft report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) on the coal ministry, Team Anna has, without waiting for the authenticated report to be tabled in Parliament, hastened to point fingers at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Notably, the office of the CAG has termed the 'leaks' as "exceedingly misleading". Moreover, for whatever reason, Team Anna always targets the Congress and the UPA, but it never takes the BJP and other constituents of the NDA to task for corruption. It gives people an impression that it is more anti-UPA than anti-corruption. Rather than stressing the need for systemic reforms, Team Anna is personalising its anti-corruption campaign.

Aamir is calling a spade a spade
This refers to the report Doctors ask Aamir to say sorry (June 01). It is unfortunate that Medscape India, an umb-rella body of 21 medical institutions, has asked actor Aamir Khan to apologise for accusing doctors of malpractices in his TV talk show ‘Satyamev Jayate’. The plea is uncalled for as the show just pointed out the problems that plague our healthcare sector and there was nothing that painted all the doctors with the same brush. Rather than taking the issue personally, the doctors must come forward to fight the challenges that the sector faces.

IPL is corruption of cricket
This refers to the article A sport like no other by Ashok Malik (May 29). The Indian Premier League is nothing but cricket at its worst. The very character of the game has been tampered with and it is unfortunate that the writer ju-stified this corruption by citing the wo-rst elements of sports played overseas.
