The former Prime Minister VP Singh on Monday announced to march from Agra to Dadri on January 7 to demolish the construction at the site of Reliance power project. He said Jan Morcha march led by Raj Babbar would reach Dadri on January 9.

Talking to newsmen in Lucknow on Monday Singh said in the name of power project the Mulayam Singh Yadav government had handed over 2500 acre land to Reliance Energy Limited (REL) for real estate. He said whatever construction had been done there would be demolished. Singh said the Reliance had no intention to set up power plant at the site. The ex-PM said the REL so far had not made any arrangement for supply of gas from Chennai.

He said the state government in league with the corporate house had cheated the farmers by not paying market price for their land. Singh said Dadri movement had now become a national issue as there were protest voices against farmers land acquisition in other states also. He said in free economy the farmers should be given market price of the land. Singh said the state government had hatched conspiracy to grab farmers land for REL. However he asked the centre to amend land acquisition laws to protect the interest of the farmers.

Referring to state support price for sugarcanes, Singh said that farmers should be given atleast Rs 200 per quintal for sugar cane. He said morcha would launch movement from Gorakhpur to Meerut on the issue. Assailing Yadav government of politically exploiting Muslims, Singh said the government had failed to provide nine percent Mandal reservation to the community.

He said Muslim should be vigilant of Yadav government, which had been hobnobbing with Sangh Parivar. He said Yadav’s proximity with the BJP leaders had been amply demonstrated by not issuing fresh notification in Babri Masjid demolition case involving senior BJP leaders including LK Advani, Dr MM Joshi and others. He said Jan Morcha Alliance would contest on all assembly seats in the state.
