War with Pak no solution to curb terrorism: A B Bardhan
CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan said war with Pakistan was no solution to curb terrorism in the country.
The Communist Party of India on Friday said war with Pakistan was no solution to curb terrorism in the country.
"War (with Pakistan) will not render any results. On the contrary, it will lead to imperialistic intervention by developed countries," CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan said on sideline of an interactive session with members of Movement of Secular Democracy in Ahmedabad.
"Countries like US and England will definately intrude and influence the decision of the Indian government if there is war," Bardhan said.
"The CPI is very clear in the matter that the terrorists had come from Pakistan and this is a big problem. No matter how much they (Pakistan) deny, but the facts tell the truth. They cannot hide it," he said.
Bardhan said the only solution according to his party was to build international pressure on Pakistan through the United Nations (UN).
"There is a resolution passed by the Security Council of UN that if any member-nation attacks another country then appropiate action should be taken against the aggressor," he said.
"So, this issue needs to be taken up to the UN Security Council to build intenational pressure on Pakistan. This, according to us, will be the right step, which we have already conveyed to the UPA government," Bardhan added.
The CPI leader suggested a third alternative to Congress and BJP which, according to him, have been monopolising the power in the country.
