Thanks for publishing such a wonderful article on Dr Shetty. He is right in saying that private hospitals and the government itself do not want such a model to spread across India. The private hospitals in are focusing on providing healthcare to foreigners and the rich, while people are dying in the lakhs for lack of healthcare.

I think we could even go a step further and control the cost of drugs to begin with, to dramatically augment healthcare across the country. We need a TRAI-like agency to keep a check on rising pharmaceutical rates.
