According to the media reports, Varun Gandhi's counsel Ryan Karenjewale has today said that Varun Gandhi will not move the apex court seeking stay on FIR against him for alleged hate speeches.

BJP candidate Varun Gandhi may court arrest at his Pilibhit constituency on Friday after withdraw his anticipatory bail application from the Delhi High Court, which is listed for hearing on Friday.

Earlier, there were reports that Varun would withdraw the application, making himself available to the Uttar Pradesh police to take legal action against him.

The Allahabad High Court had on Wednesday dismissed his petition seeking the quashing of FIRs registered against him by the Pilibhit district authorities for allegedly making inflammatory speeches.

Varun's move is clearly planned towards gaining political advantage.

Earlier on Thursday, Maneka Gandhi came out in defence of her son Varun, finally breaking her silence on the issue of his hate speech in Pilibhit.

Maneka took on the Congress, accusing it of sending a doctored CD to the Election Commission.
