Distance learning will never be the same again. Virtual classrooms have always been seen as a future possibility. Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad and NIIT, are set to unlock a revolution by making virtual learning a reality.
In future, we might witness virtual learning studios across the country for higher education, making learning more accessible, interactive and cost-effective. The technology adopted by NIIT is a two-way video streaming process, enabling the instructor and sender to interact through live video and audio media.
Students will first be part of an orientation at IIM-A, and then be introduced to the learning centers in their respective cities. This will offer the benefit of a live classroom and the convenience of being in your own city.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between representatives of the two institutions in the capital on Friday. “It is a breakthrough in education, ensuring that the best of management education is delivered widely through technical innovation,” said Vijay Thadani, CEO, NIIT.
Through six specialised learning centres across the country, IIM-A will initially offer two programmes- — General Management and Strategic Business Communications to practicing managers, starting this year, Bakul Dholakia, director, IIM-A said.
