Shiney Ahuja’s luck doesn’t seem to be getting any better. The actor’s film,
co-starring Preity Zinta and Issha Koppikhar, that has been waiting for release for the past year, may not see the light of the day.
Director Jahnu Baruah says that he has given up thinking about the release date. “I don’t know anything about the film’s release. Audiences have been waiting for the film since 2008 and it is sad that a film that is ready to be released is being held. Due to the unfortunate incident that happened with Shiney, the producer is reluctant to release the film. It is completely his call now. I can’t do anything,” he says.
Producer Tito says, “Nothing is confirmed, but I will try for an April release.”
However, a friend of the actor says that this has nothing to do with Shiney. “The print is ready and the producer is going everywhere with it, but no one is willing to buy it. There are marketing problems, so they are using the controversy around Shiney to publicise the project.”
On her recent visit to the Capital, when we asked Preity Zinta about the film’s release, all she said was, “It should be this year.”
