What you resist will persist. If you try to resist desires, they will persist and become stronger. Don’t let them become so important. Don’t be averse to them either.
Don’t be shaken by desires and the outcomes of desires. This takes you into the ‘It shouldn’t have happened,” mode.
Knowledge of a mistake comes to you in the present, and in that present moment, you are out of the mistake already. You are innocent.
Instead of brooding over the past, just wake up and acknowledge, “The mistake has happened. OK. But I need to move on”. Otherwise, you get stuck blaming yourself, “Oh, I did that wrong”. Or you try to stop blaming yourself. You say, “No, what I did was right”. You justify your actions so that you don’t feel the guilt.
But it doesn’t happen that way. Whatever justification you give, the guilt inside lingers on and distorts your behaviour. You want to put the blame on some one else? It is like you are sitting there with a garbage can. When someone comes, you throw it at them. You think they will keep quiet?
They will return it to you. It is like a ball that bounces back.
Be really guilty, feel 100% guilt and that pain, that guilt, that sadness itself, becomes like a meditation, and will relieve you from it, and bring freedom to you. Remain totally miserable for one whole moment, or 5 minutes or 10 minutes, or 25 minutes, not more. And then, you will be out of it.
Then, you are a seeker, because you are pained by your incapability. And that pain of incapability itself, becomes a prayer, and makes you a seeker. If you feel the pinch, and really feel for it, you have begun on the path!
