Reiterating that it was prepared to sit in the opposition and not interested in forming a government with either the BJP or the Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday dared Rahul Gandhi to contest elections against its leader Kumar Vishwas.

Flanked by newly elected MLAs and party leaders, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, addressed a gathering of volunteers and supporters at Jantar Mantar, asked the two parties to form a coalition government as “they followed the same ideologies”.

He said the AAP was ready for a repoll in Delhi and the 2014 Parliamentary elections.

“BJP is shying away from forming a government, it shouldn’t get any vote. It is scared of buying MLAs because of AAP,” Kejriwal said and added: “This is no victory celebration, AAP can’t celebrate till there’s is corruption and problems in the country,” he said.

Kejriwal to visit Hazare
Kejriwal said he would go to Ralegan Siddhi on Thursday to support Anna Hazare, who is on an indefinite hunger strike demanding a Jan Lokpal Bill in Parliament. He will sit among the audience as Hazare had said he would not share dais with political leaders.

“When people thought nothing can be done, our movement gave them hope. History was made on December 8. People have lit a flame; this has to be taken to all corners of the country,” Kejriwal said, and asked his MLAs not to be arrogant.

He congratulated volunteers who left their jobs and studies for a change and their families for supporting them.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia dared Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to fight elections against Kumar Vishwas.

“People in Delhi for the first time rose above caste, creed lines and voted. There’s now hope that the common man can fight and win elections,” he said.
