The West Indies will defend their Champions Trophy title with the same players that will play in the triseries in Malaysia against India and Australia.

"The team that is going to Malaysia was picked for the ICC tournament and these are the players who will go on for the Champions Trophy, barring injury. This is the team which will go on to defend the Champions Trophy," skipper Brian Lara told Jamaica Observer.

After the triseries, the players will have a camp at the same venue before they leave for India to play in the mini World Cup.

The West Indies are ranked eighth in the ICC one-day rankings and will have to go through the preliminary matches to qualify for the group stage.

The men from the Caribbean face Zimbabwe on October 8 in Ahmedabad, Bangladesh on October 11 in Jaipur and Sri Lanka on October 14 in Mumbai.

Squad: Brian Lara (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan (vice-captain), Chris Gayle, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Wavell Hinds, Runako Morton, Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Bravo, Dwayne Smith, Carlton Baugh, Ian Bradshaw, Jerome Taylor, Fidel Edwards, Corey Collymore.
