Mridula Kapur, wife of Major General Anand Kumar Kapoor, booked by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a disproportionate assets case, has claimed that the case against them had been “engineered and planned” by interested parties.

Kapoor, an Ordinance Corps officer, is posted in the South Western command at Jaipur. The CBI, after registering a case against him and his wife, had carried out searches at 12 places on October 10.

“My husband is likely to get promoted to the rank of Lt. Gen. His forthcoming promotion is the cause of our present situation engineered and planned by interested parties,” Mridula Kapur said.
