Two early strikes helped Delhi Wizards score a 3-1 win over Bhopal Badshahs in a World Series Hockey match at the National Stadium on Thursday. The win not only ended Delhi's three-match losing streak on home turf, it has also increased its point tally from seven to 10, enhancing its chances to break into the top-four.
Delhi tasted success early and that's the reason why the Bhopal franchise --- a strong contender for the last-four spot --- got unsettled. With 13 points, the Badshahs are placed second behind Sher-E-Punjab.
Victo Singh sounded the boards for the Wizards in the 5th minute, while skipper Shakeel Abassi consolidate the lead. Jolted by the two goals, Badshahs made inroads into the Wizards territory reduced the margin through Casey Henwood.
