A 32-year-old woman from Vijay Nagar in Ghaziabad was arrested by the police on Saturday after she killed her husband and dumped his body in Bisrakh. The victim, identified as Rohtash Kumar, 42, was allegedly murdered by his wife with the help of two accomplices on Thursday at Vijay Nagar in Ghaziabad and the body was later dumped at an isolated location in Bisrakh.

Investigations have revealed that Kumar had sour relations with his wife Babli after he objected to her friendship with a neighbour Rizwan Ahmed.

“Her friend visited their house quite often and this was objected by her husband. They had become friendly from the past two to three years and was upset by the frequent altercations between the husband and wife. Both of them later planned to get rid of Kumar,” said Rajesh Dwivedi, station officer at Vijay Nagar.

On Thursday night, Ahmed and his friend Raja entered Kumar’s house and beat him with a stick. They later stabbed him. “The accused threw the body into a sewer in Bisrakh area. After an FIR was lodged by the victim’s cousin, we questioned the woman and recovered her husband’s body,” Dwivedi said. Kumar’s body was recovered on Saturday. He worked as a construction contractor at NH-24.

While the police arrested the woman, her two accomplices, Ahmed and Raja, are absconding. The police said that a search was launched to nab both the accused.
