Fraternal feud over property cost a woman, her life when her relatives allegedly beat her to death and set her house ablaze in this Bihar district.
Renu Devi (35), a mother of two children, was allegedly beaten to death with sticks and other household articles by her husband's brother Brijendra Yadav and other members of his family, who also set on fire her house at Furkahi village under Bharahi police station.
Her husband Ravindra was away from home at the time as he had gone to Madhepura town to sell milk, police said.
The couple's children were, however, spared, they said.
Ravindra was allegedly a running feud with his brother Brijendra over a piece of land.
Altogether 17 people, including 8 women members of the family have been made accused in the case. While one was arrested, the others are absconding, the police said.
