Chief medical and health officer (CMHO) Shivpuri district has ordered a probe after a woman gave birth to female quadruplets even after she had gone through a family planning operation three years ago. However, none of the newborns survived.
According to sources, the woman Asha, hailing from the village Jhiri in Pohri block, came to the district government hospital after she started experiencing labour pain.
While she was coming to the hospital, the woman gave birth to four baby girls. Two girls were found dead when she reached the hospital. Two others were in critical condition; however even they could not survive.
Chief medical and health officer Shivpuri L Uchariya told HT on phone that he was gathering information regarding the case and had already ordered the in-charge family welfare programme in the district to probe into the matter and present a report to him.
"Though many family planning operations fail, but we will have to see what happened in this case and who did this operation. Then only can we reach to a conclusion," Uchariya said.
