A woman who used to rob cab drivers of their vehicles with help of her accomplices was arrested from Dadri in Greater Noida, the police said on Sunday.

The accused was arrested on Saturday night when she along with her two male accomplices was trying to snatch a Scorpio from a cab driver.

According to the police, two men — Sonu and Pramod —hired a Scorpio from Delhi. On their way, they pretended to offer a lift to the woman, Seema. They took the vehicle to Kotpur village and tried to loot the

vehicle. They even fired at the cab driver when he resisted.

“But a police team reached the spot immediately. Seema was arrested while the two other assailants managed to escape,” said Arvind Kumar, circle officer (Dadri).

Kumar said the police team also recovered the Scorpio car from the accused.

The driver of the cab was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment as he got bullet injuries. His condition is said to be critical.

According to the police, the gang was active in the area for quite a long time and has looted many cabs in similar fashion. Initial interrogation has revealed that they use to use woman as bait to win confidence of the cab driver.

"A team has been formed to arrest the woman's accomplices," said Kumar.
