A 45-year-old woman, also a mother of six children, hired contract killers for Rs 10,000 to murder her 50-year-old husband who subjected her to domestic violence and even paraded her naked on streets under the influence of alcohol.

On September 27, Kaushal Singh (45), had lodged a missing complaint report at Murad Nagar police station in Ghaziabad regarding disappearance of her husband Raj Kumar Singh (50).

Police investigations later revealed that on the night of September 14, Singh and her accomplices, who were hired for Rs 10,000, had mercilessly beaten Raj Kumar and dumped his body, packed inside a bag, into Hindon river.

Investigations also revealed that the victim subjected his wife to domestic violence and cruelty, which led her into hiring contract killers and then lodging a fake missing persons report. Kaushal Singh was arrested on Monday. "My husband used to beat me under the influence of alcohol. He even tore my clothes and made me parade naked on the streets. After such torture, I went to my in-laws and planned the murder," Singh said.

Police have also arrested her brother-in-law Rohtash Singh. "Four of the other accused are absconding. They killed the victim and also disposed off the body in the river. We will nab them soon," senior superintendent of police Raghubir Lal said.

The police are yet to trace the victim's body.
