Woman kidnaps infant, hunt on to rescue child

An unidentified woman has allegedly kidnapped an infant in Old Faridabad area on Monday.

An unidentified woman has allegedly kidnapped an infant in Old Faridabad area on Monday.

Chotte Lal, originally a resident of Bihar, lodged a complaint with Old Faridabad police station on Monday informing that his 15 days old baby child was kidnapped by a woman, the police said.

A woman, suspected of kidnapping the infant, had started visiting Lal's wife Neelam since the last fortnight.

"The complaint said that the woman asked Neelam to accompany her to a hospital for administrating pulse polio drops to the child on Monday afternoon," police said, adding, "When Neelam followed the lady, they found the hospital closed."

"The lady then went to the nearby market where mother of the infant tried some bangles at a shop where as the infant was held by the lady. The lady fled with the child while the mother of the infant was inside the shop," the police added,

saying, "When the mother came out of the shop, she found the woman missing along with her child."

The police has registered an FIR under section 363 of IPC on Monday one the basis of the complaint.

"Two teams have been formed to track the whereabouts of the woman kidnapper and also to rescue the infant," Jitender Dhanda, station house officer, Old Faridabad said, adding, "the woman kidnapper is yet to be identified."
