Less than a week after the shameful molestation incident in Mumbai, a group of about a dozen men, aged between 20 and 25, allegedly attempted to molest a woman, and thrashed her pilot husband in the basement parking lot of a mall on MG Road in the wee hours of Sunday. All the men belong to Delhi.

The police have arrested four alleged molesters and registered a case of attempted molestation based on the statement of the woman. She has claimed that the men were drunk.

The arrested men belong to Uttam Nagar in west Delhi, police said. They claimed innocence, saying that one of them had touched the lady accidentally while climbing the stairs.

Mohammad Hussein, SHO of DLF police station, said that at about 3.45 am a pilot was strolling with his wife and his brother-in-law in the basement parking lot of DLF City Center Mall. “The lady claimed that a group of drunken youths touched her deliberately and tried to molest her,” the police officer said.

When her husband and her brother objected to their act, the group pounced upon them and started thrashing them. The couple lives in Kendriya Vihar society apartments in Gurgaon.

The arrested youths were identified as Hari, Narpal, Jasmit and Gurpreet. However, one of the accused later claimed that neither he nor his friends were drunk.
