The Faridabad police have registered a case against four persons, including a girl, for creating a woman's fake profile on a social networking site and using it to harass her.
Gyatri Devi (name changed), who is mother of three, lodged a police complaint alleging that she was getting phone calls and being harassed.
The police said Gyatri Devi suspected one Pramila Yadav, who once lived as a paying guest at her house in Faridabad's Sector 15A.
"We registered a case under different provisions of IT Act against four persons including Pramila Yadav on November 16," said SHO Ajeet Kumar.
Police said the Facebook profile was created to take revenge from the complainant who had told the suspect to leave her house. The other three were Mukesh Gupta and Deepak Katara of Faridabad, Ankur of Jaggar in Haryana.
The police said following the creation of the account, which has now been deleted, the complainant had started receiving calls. Her mobile phone number had been posted online.
