The deceased woman has been identified as Reeta.

Jai Narayan, in-charge of Ramba police post, said that prima facie seemed that the two died of asphyxia and it was a matter of investigation if it was a suicide or murder.

He said that a case of murder and dowry death had been registered against Reeta's husband Bhagwan, her mother-in-law Kalawati and her sister-in-law Mickey and the accused had been arrested.

Babu Ram, father of the deceased woman, alleged that Bhagwan and his family had killed his daughter and granddaughter.

In his complaint to the police, Ram alleged that Reeta got married with Bhagwan in February 2009 and she was maltreated and forced to get dowry.

“Few months ago I gave Bhagwan a sum of `3.50 lakh but he returned only `50,000. When I started asking about the rest of the money he owed to me, Bhagwan and his mother Kalawati started harassing my daughter,” he alleged.
