The police on Sunday arrested two women Naxalites, one of them an expert in the production of fire arms.

Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Ladha in a press conference in Guntur on Sunday gave an account of their activities in the outlawed Maoist party.

N Alivelu Manga (38) is the commander of the central technical team looking after production of firearms. The team had produced about a hundred firearms so far, he said.

The other woman, N Chandra Kala (24) is the commander of the Naxal action team. She was involved in several cases of murder, attacks on police stations and encounters. She had joined the Naxals six years ago to avoid a forced marriage, Ladha said.

Ladha said acting on a tip-off, the police arrested them in the rice-rich Tenali town where they went on party errand.
