She’s the lady who had Delhiites drooling over her Italian cooking when she opened Diva in 2000. Then came Café at the Italian Cultural Centre, Le Cafe at Ravi Bajaj’s store and Divattra at The Ashok. 2008 saw her go a step further as she donned the hats of cookbook author and television show host. Her book, Italian Khana, came out in June and was soon followed by a TV series based on it.
She may be related to Big B, but Ramola Bachchan has made a name for herself — and her uber chic European restaurant, Manré — in the city’s dining scene in the one year since it opened. It has also become popular in the city’s party circuit. The restaurant holds the distinction of being among the first fine dining spots in a mall in Delhi.
Call her the donut lady. 26-year-old Arora is the executive chef at Mad Over Donuts, which opened in April last year. She is the creative brains behind the tantalising collection of sweet and savoury donuts. Last month, she also diversified into home delivery of made-to-order desserts with her company, Foodaholics.
