Wonders belief does

I read somewhere last week a little, cute story. The captain of a ship realised in the middle of the sea that his ship was sinking. Scared, he shouted, "Anyone there who knows how to pray?" One person raised his hand and said, " Captain, I know how to pray." PP Wangchuk writes.

I read somewhere last week a little, cute story. The captain of a ship realised in the middle of the sea that his ship was sinking. Scared, he shouted, "Anyone there who knows how to pray?" One person raised his hand and said, " Captain, I know how to pray."

"Good", said the captain, "You pray while the rest of us put on life jackets, we are one short!"

This one, even if a joke, beautifully tells us that faith and the power of prayer can do wonders. If faith can move mountains, then one can say that the rest of the things in life could be much easier jobs.

What happens when one builds up one's faith and creates a 'do or die' situation. Sure success, you would say. The Bard too had said, though in a different context, that the miserable have no other remedy but hope and faith. Disraeli had said that everything will come if a man will only wait. And, who had said that one should be aware of the fury of the patient man!

The lesson: Pray, work and enjoy life to the full. There is nothing that life will keep you away from if you are sincere and work hard enough to get it.

Actually, prayer is nothing but a way to clean up your mind and be positive enough to have faith in your own ability to overcome all obstacles on the path to your destination. It helps you rediscover yourself and varnish the finer qualities in you that you have not made use of so far. And the combination

of your will power strengthened by faith enables you to cross the thorny path with great ease.

That is why you have great thinkers like Saint Augustine saying that unless you believe, you will not understand. And when you understand, according to John Lilly, in the province of the mind, what one believes to be true either is true or becomes true. After all, don't we have the saying that a man is what he believes to be!
