THE INDIAN team for the upcoming World Cup is a balanced team and they will bag the trophy, says Mohammed Kaif. The cricketer is in the city to take part in the Central Zone Ranji one-dayer.
“The selection committee knows whom to select but I am disappointed for not being included in the squad and will be watching the game on television and wishing them,” Kaif said.
He said that he would practice and perform in local matches to come back in the Indian team. Suresh Raina, one of the aspirants who missed the World Cup squad, said that his confident level has increased and would concentrate on his batting in the local matches.
“I will do best in domestic matches and would come back in the squad,” he said. He too said that the team is well balanced and would do well in the World Cup and expressed his confidence of India clinching the coveted World Cup.
R P Singh, the third player whose name is missing from the Indian world cup team list, is also a disappointed man. He said that unlike other bowlers who concentrate on batting along with bowling, he will concentrate on his bowling first and will do the best in the local and domestic matches.
“I would not like to comment on the selection as the Indian selectors have selected the best team and the team is balanced and I have the confidence that we will do well and there is no surprise if we lift the World Cup,” he added.
The UP team will be playing their first match in Central Zone Ranji one –dayer on Monday against Vidarbha at the Emerald Heights International School grounds and all the three ‘unlucky’ players will do their best in the Ranji one-dayer.
