THE TEAM of Yellow House today registered berth in the final of the under-19 age category of the St Michael’s Inter-Academy Tournament being organised by St Michael’s Cricket Academy (SMCA) at Bab-e-Aali Stadium.

In the first semifinal of the under-19 category, Red House decided to bat first after winning the toss. However, its batsmen put up a poor show.

Some of them were out to irresponsible strokes. The highest scorers were Salman and Yash, who scored 23 runs each. Red House were all out for 100 in 40 overs.

Controlled bowling by Yellow Houses’ Usman and Sunil Sharma troubled all the batsmen. Both claimed four wickets apiece. Chasing the target with the asking run rate of less than three runs per over, Yellow House batsmen committed the same mistake of playing shots uppishly. Though the team won the match by three wickets, they had to work hard in scoring every run.

Mukhtar was the highest scorer with 26 runs. The final will be played on June 10.
