The setback that the Aam Aadmi Party received in the Lok Sabha elections has begun taking its toll on the 18-month-old outfit. AAP leader Yogendra Yadav resigned from the party’s top decision-making body on Saturday while Haryana state convener Naveen Jaihind, resigned from national executive.

Yadav resigned from party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) after a tiff with Naveen Jaihind.

“I have not resigned from the party rather I have just asked to be relieved of my duties as the party spokesperson and unit in-charge of Haryana and further as a member of the Political Affairs Committee. However I have showed my willingness to work towards the party even more,” said Yadav.

The resignations came after a week’s tussle over the blame game over the poor Lok Sabha poll result between the two in the state.

Sources in the party said their resignations were not accepted by party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal, who also hails from Haryana and suggested them to continue their job.

As per details, post the party’s debacle in the general elections, Jaihind had termed wrong selection of candidates and sidelining ground volunteers to be the chief reasons behind the drubbing. After this development, Yadav had sought action against Jaihind by lodging a formal complaint against him.

Talking to HT, Jaihind, who lost against Congress candidate Deepender Singh Hooda, admitted resigning from his post over his differences with Yadav on the poll debacle.
