The Shiv Sena on Tuesday said that they will set up a special phone number and email IDs for citizens to suggest what they expect from the party after it assumes power in the state.
At a press conference, Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray said that the party was keen to know from the people their expectations from them. “We shall make the manifesto comprehensive and try and include whatever suggestions and comments we get,” Uddhav said.
“What we get from citizens would help us formulate our mainfesto and ensure that we do not miss out on any of the issues. It will be a people’s manifesto.”
Citizens can call on 24222222 or mail their suggestions to email@example.com.
Questioned on whether he would be the chief minister if the Sena-BJP alliance came to power, Uddhav said party supremo Bal Thackeray will take a final call. “It is not a question of my liking. Balasaheb will decide on who will assume the top post. I have been given the responsibility of strengthening the party and I shall ensure that the alliance government functions properly,” he said.
Blasting the Democratic Government’s performance, Thackeray said the time had come for this government to go. “It remembers a Shivaji memorial during every elections and their promises on free power and pumps to farmers have remained on paper.,” he added.
Speaking on seat-sharing between the alliance partners, he said that it had nearly been finalised adding that he was sure that Marathi votes would not split this time.
On Raj Thackeray’s statement that no party can cobble together a majority without the MNS factor, Uddhav said he did not know there were shops and businesses like this thriving on the assembly election results.
