Young managers, students to participate in IMA contests

THE INDORE Management Association (IMA) will organise two events ?Young Managers Competition? and ?Quest For Leaders? in the City on January 13 and 14.

THE INDORE Management Association (IMA) will organise two events ‘Young Managers Competition’ and ‘Quest For Leaders’ in the City on January 13 and 14.

Young managers from the country’s leading corporate houses and students from leading business schools will participate in the twin competitions being held as a lead up to IMA’s national management convention in February.

The theme of the event, to be held at Daly College Business School, is ‘Renaissance: Innovative Architecture for Tomorrow’. IMA vice president Rakesh Jain told reporters on Tuesday that the competitions would provide a unique opportunity to young participants to test and demonstrate their knowledge, experience and professional expertise in the field of leadership and creativity.

“This year, 40 teams will participate from all over the country”, he said. “There are two benefits of holdings these events”, he said. “Firstly, we get a lot of ideas on the theme prior to the convention and secondly it gives a platform to would be managers to air their views”, he added.

Talking about the theme, Jain said, “Renaissance means rebirth and we feel that first time in the history of corporate India the mood is so upbeat and economic indicators are so positive, be it the Sensex, FDI inflow or the GDP”. The need of the hour, he said, is to have fresh ideas and an innovative approach in the coming years if India is to become prosperous once again.

Some previous winners of the competitions are CSC India Pvt Ltd (Indore), Tata Holset (Dewas), Purple Focus (Indore) and PIMR (Indore).

IMA office-bearers informed that the association organises various activities for “total management spectrum” depending on the requirements of area’s management group. These activities are for everyone, from the students to the CEOs of the companies.

Among these activities are centres of excellence programmes, EDP, public talks, events, film shows, etc. IMA chief operating officer Axay Dubey and secretary Santosh Muchhal also addressed the press meet.
