Youth assaulted for objecting to cleric?s remarks

A YOUTH was assaulted after he objected to a remark made by a cleric, during a religious sermon being held at Sultanul Madaris in Wazirganj on Friday evening.
The victim lodged a named FIR against the cleric who was delivering the speech and two others at the local police station. The youth was sent for the medical treatment.

Mehndi, the complainant, stated in the FIR that he was attending the lecture of Maulana Mehmudul Hasan of Jaunpur, when he objected to a remark made on a prominent Lucknow-based cleric. Mehndi argued with the cleric over the matter when a group of youths intervened. The youths pounced upon Mehndi and started beating him. Somehow, he escaped and lodged a complaint.

Two found dead : A man  was murdered in Itaunja, while a history-sheeter was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Nigohan on Friday. The police claimed that illicit relation could be the possible motive behind Itaunja killing.

In the first incident, villagers informed the Itaunja police about the body of Rajaram alias Tirry of Prithvipur village lying outside the village. The cops reached the place to find a scarf wrapped around Rajaram’s neck and the marks confirmed that the victim was strangled to death.

In another incident, Jagdish Prasad (55), a resident of Nagram Township and a history-sheeter, was found dead on Nagram-Rae Bareli Road in Nigohan on Friday morning. Puttilal of Nagram spotted Jagdish’s body and informed the cops.
