The body of a youth, who had a relationship with a girl, was exhumed at Bagnan in Howrah district on Monday after his father alleged foul play in a complaint with the police.

The body of a youth, who had a relationship with a girl, was exhumed at Bagnan in Howrah district on Monday after his father alleged foul play in a complaint with the police.

Police said the highly decomposed body of Seikh Barsat (30), who was a quack and died while attending patients at Najial village in South 24 Parganas district in last December, was exhumed from the grave at Barunda under Bagnan police station in the presence of the Sub-Divisional Officer and police officials from two districts.

The body would be sent for inquest, which would be done in the presence of a magistrate, police said.

Barsat, who been staying in South 24 Parganas away from his native village in Howrah for practice, had reportedly entered into a relationship with a girl, police said quoting the complaint of his father who smelt foul play in the death.

The youth, who had also been running a tutorial home in South 24 Parganas district, had been buried on December 27 after death certificate cited the reason as due to gastric ailments.
