From clink of tall glasses brimming with celebratory wine to soft laughter and whiff of delicacies — eating out with loved ones is an experience in itself. And, good food accompanied by charming interiors is simply an all-out treat. Located at 1, Hauz Khas Village, Zo — a restaurant which serves Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, reverberates with Middle-Eastern romance and a resounding Baroque touch.
The soft red light that embraces the lounge area is a perfect place to celebrate your anniversary or an intimate occasion, with brown leather sofas, Turkish drapes adorned with pearl tassels on asymmetric hems, a delectable, low-hung chandelier in the middle and woven tapestry on the walls. “I’ve done the entire place on my own. It used to be my gallery which showcased antiques, many of which have been used here. Some of our guests even want to buy the furniture they see at the restaurant,” says owner Ankit Pasricha, 33. Another interesting feature is the bar area. Dimly lit with a carved wooden facade, the hanging Naga baskets on its front that serve as lamps, are hard to miss.
Move over to the dining area and you’d be taken in by walls covered with framed artwork. In the middle is the painting of Zo — a character in a mythical tale that inspired the name of the restaurant. Marble used innovatively on the floor and on the wall panel adds to the old-world charm and warmth of the place.
