The girl, in her statement, said she was returning home after attending computer class, when the four accused abducted her from Sorwa road and took her to a graveyard, situated barely 200-metre from the police station.
Police have identified two of the four accused as Kamlesh (23) and Gildar (22). The identity of two others is yet to be ascertained. The case was handed over to the sub-divisional officer and deputy superintendent of police (women cell).
District superintendent of police, Kartikey, confirmed the development.
The victim said the four of them took turns to rape her and left her there. She somehow managed to reached home and narrate whole ordeal to her family members.
The incident has raised questions on police patrolling. District Congress president Mahesh Patel took a dig at the police officers and said: “The incident occurred between 6pm and 7pm, so anyone can judge how efficient the cops are.” Patel also alleged that police have intentionally delayed filing the FIR just to cover-up the incident.
