Police will call for explanation from two constables and senior officers concerned regarding the presence of policemen at the time of firing incident when Vikram Singh Puar, son of BJP MLA from Dewas, Tukoji Rao Puar, allegedly fired at a farmer, Pratap Lodhi at Raghogarh village in Dewas district.
Lodhi succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.
"I will take appropriate action and will even call for explanation," said Dewas superintendent of police (SP) Abhay Singh.
On Wednesday last, armed men led by ruling BJP MLA and former minister Tukoji Rao Puar's son Vikram Singh Puar allegedly attacked a group of farmers injuring at least four people in Raghogarh village of Dewas district over a land dispute.
Villagers and community members had alleged that the whole incident took place in front of two police constables who were present during the incident.
Villagers also disclosed the name of the two policemen — Rajesh Gaharwar and Madan Yadav — both posted at Double Chowki, a small checkpost under Barotha police station, who accompanied the BJP MLA's son.
Meanwhile, the MLA's son still remains out of bound of police. Police claimed that they were conducting raids to nab him but till now he is absconding.
Police have formed teams and are keeping a close eye on the followers and relatives of the MLA.
