Barwani tribal says man found near Pak border is mentally unstable son

After the news that BSF officials held a 35-year-old man near the Pakistan border in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district on October 1 went viral on WhatsApp, a tribal on Wednesday reached a police station (PS) in Madhya Pradesh’s Barwani district with a photograph and documents claiming the man found is his mentally unstable son.

Rubjiya, who hails from Walan village in Barwani district, came to Pati PS and said Tukaram, his 33-year-old son, has been missing for three months from his village and that his son is mentally ill. Rubjiya also said he consulted various exorcists for Tukaram who used to wander around.

Pati PS in-charge SS Waskale said he on Wednesday afternoon contacted Shahgarh PS in Jaisalmer district and came to know around 35-year-old person from Walan village of Barwani district’s Pati PS was found about 35 km from Shahgarh police station by 161 battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) and was handed over to Shahgadh PS on October 1.

According to police, BSF didn’t find any suspicious things with him and as he was not able to speak properly and tell about his whereabouts so he was sent to Jaisalmer SP office where during interrogation he told his name is Sunil and he is from Walan village.

He also said his father’s name is Rubjiya. His medical examination was properly done and he was on Tuesday sent to MP by train from Jaisalmer on his request.

Waskale said he has sent Tukaram’s photo, his Aadhaar and voter ID cards to Jaisalmer through WhatsApp to ascertain whether he was the same person or not.
