The BJP on Saturday gave a call to free Indore from influence of Congress party in all municipal wards. The city has 85 municipal wards. Municipal elections are to be held in the state in November-December.
Delivering welcome speech at the felicitation function of newly appointed state BJP president Nandkumar Singh Chauhan at Gandhi Hall premises on Saturday, City BJP president Kailash Sharma said BJP would try to win in all 85 municipal wards. "Our aim is Congress-free municipal wards in Indore," he said.
Later, state BJP vice-president Raghunandan Sharma endorsed Kailash Sharma’s claim. "I want Indore to be an example for this (winning all 85 wards)," he said.
In his address, Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan commended the contribution of polling booth-level party workers who helped party to win assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
He asked party workers to make similar efforts for winning forthcoming municipal elections. He cautioned workers not to be over-confident but be disciplined and put in sincere efforts to help BJP win the polls.
