Separate teams of police and education department visited Indore and Ujjain in search of more evidence against the accused of the board examination paper leak incident.
Ujjain additional superintendent of police Asit Yadav said police seized mobile phones of the accused — government school principal Udai Waghmare and Bharat Public School principal Pawan Bagdiya — and sent them to a forensic laboratory.
Earlier, police had seized Rs 1 lakh from Waghmare’s house at Scheme No 54 Vijay Nagar. Bagdiya had reportedly paid Rs 1 lakh to Waghmare for the paper leak.
“Police are trying to find out whether Waghmare clicked and forwarded pictures of more question papers to Bagdiya and others,” Yadav said.
District education department assistant director MM Tiwari visited Ujjain and met police senior officials and collected a copy of the police FIR from them.
Tiwari said education the department was planning to initiate suspension process against Waghmare.
Investigating officer Salim Khan said that apart from Section 3/4, 3(A) and 4(A) of Madhya Pradesh Recognized Examinations Act, 1937, police also added Section 420 (cheating) and 409 (breach of trust) against both the accused.
He said police would find out how Waghmare tampered with the seal of question papers.
