Sandeep Bharadwaj, the actor playing the lead in the upcoming film Veerappan, interacted with the media for the first time on Wednesday in Indore.

The film based on the life of the notorious criminal Veerappan, will show facts of the dacoit’s life and his encounter.

“I had very little information about him (Veerappan) but Ram Gopal Varma (RGV)’s apt guidance helped me to cross the shore,” said Bharadwaj.

During the event, director of the film, RGV said that the film does not aim to glorify Veerappan.

“The film is about the circumstances that led to the birth of a character like Veerappan. It also presents the role of the administration and our society in making a fearsome criminal of the stature of Veerappan,” added RGV.

Actress Lisa Ray, who will be seen playing a pivotal role, said that the film will show many unknown facts about Veerappan’s personal life.

“Nobody knows that there was a woman behind Veerappan’s killing. I will be seen as the wife of top notch security personnel, who is recruited by the police to befriend Veerappan’s wife that eventually led to his killing” she said.

The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on May 27.
