In yet another case of police high-handedness on mediapersons, a reporter of local electronic media was allegedly thrashed by a constable posted at Tukoganj police station on Tuesday when he was standing along with his fiancée at Janjirwala square.

The constable was suspended and a probe led by CSP Kotwali Neeraj Chaurasia was ordered. No case has been filed so far.

Victim Puneet Vijayvargiya said he was celebrating his birthday with his fiancée at Janjirwala square around 9am when a stone was thrown at his office. Constable Taj Mohammed along with his colleague started abusing Puneet and his fiancée.

The situation turned worse after Taj Mohammed started beating up Puneet and also called PCR from Tukoganj police station, about 400 metre from the spot.
