The last rites of BJP MP Dilip Singh Bhuria were performed at his native Machaliya village situated five kilometres from Jhabua district headquarter on Thursday evening.
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state BJP president Nandkumar Singh Chauhan among others were present at the cremation.
Before reaching Machaliya, his body was brought to Indore BJP office on Thursday morning where senior BJP leaders paid floral tributes to the departed leader.
National BJP vice-president Prabhat Jha, union minister Thavarchand Gehlot, state BJP vice-president Anju Makhija, city BJP president Kailash Sharma, among others, paid floral tributes to their departed leader.
Paying tributes, senior party leaders including Jha said BJP has lost state's prominent tribal leader with Bhuria's demise.
Others present at the funeral included former Jharkhand chief minister Arjun Munda, union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram, state ministers Vijay Shah and Paras Jain.
Dilip Singh Bhuria, 71, had died while undergoing treatment at Medanta hospital in Gurgaon on Wednesday morning. His body was flown from New Delhi to Indore on Wednesday evening.
He breathed his last at 10.35 am at Medanata hospital in Gurgaon where he was undergoing treatment for cardiac ailment and lung infection.
