Like many other gangsters, Narendra Kushwaha, who was killed on Friday night, was aspiring to enter politics and had fought legislative assembly elections as an independent candidate. He also had plans to contest the upcoming municipal elections. Khushwaha has 18 cases including murder registered against him.

Interestingly, in his attempt to become a politician, Khushwaha was only trying to emulate notorious gangster Vishnu Ustad, who was shot dead in Patnipura area in 2002. Khushwaha was an accused in that murder case.

Till now, police sources have claimed that Kushwaha, a resident of Machla village on Khandwa Road, was killed by Akaash Meena and Golu Baurasi, who were his close aides. Sources said that Kushwaha had abused them which led to his murder.

Sources further said Akaash Meena and Golu used to sell illegal liquor on the behest of Kushwaha. About a week ago, Golu was slapped by Kushwaha following a petty dispute. This angered Golu and he made common cause with his friend Akaash Meena.

On Friday night, they all went to attend a birthday party of Santosh Silvat, a scrap dealer of Badi Gwaltoli. When the party was going on, Kushwaha again abused Golu over a petty issue.

Angered, Golu and his friend Meena shot Kushwaha. A total of 11 rounds were fired by the accused and Kushwaha was also stabbed by the duo. Post-mortem of the body was going on till the news last came in.

Another close aide of Kushwaha, Nikki, was injured and has been admitted to the CHL Apollo Hospital.

It is worth mentioning that Kushwaha has had disputes with some of his very close aides in last few months. Kushwaha was close to Satish Bhau (another gangster of Indore). However, sometime ago, they parted ways because of some money-related issue. Similarly, his right hand Vishnu Bumbum also left him because of some dispute.
