An 18-year-old girl was gang-raped and attacked with acid in the Lahroli village of the Bhind district on Wednesday night.
The accused, two in number who are said to be uncles of the victim, kidnapped the girl, took her to a nearby jungle, sexually assaulted her entire night and later burnt her private and some other parts of the body before leaving the spot.
The victim has been hospitalized in a serious condition. Police have launched a manhunt for the accused.
Bhind additional superintendent of police (ASP) Amrut Meena said the girl had gone to relieve herself in the open on Wednesday night when she was attacked by Dhamte and Munesh Rajawat, residents of Lahroli village of the district. The accused are neigbours and are also the uncles of the victim.
The accused took the girl to the nearby forest and raped her repeatedly for the whole night. They also threatened her. Later, they burnt the private parts of the victim with acid. They also threw acid on her body. They left the girl in serious condition and ran away from the spot.
When the girl’s family members woke up in the morning, they found her missing from the house. They later found her in a serious condition in the forest. She was rushed to the district government hospital where her condition is stated to be serious.
In her statement to the police, the girl took the names of Dhamte and Munesh.
Superintendent of police Navneet Bhasin said, “Police teams are trying to nab the accused. Soon, they will be behind the bars.”
