An Indore trial court sent a 35-year-old man to life imprisonment till death for raping his minor daughter in 2014.

Additional sessions judge Rajesh Kumar Gupta also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the convict, Sunil Jain, a marriage bureau director.

The court convicted Jain under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso) after going through material on record and examining eight prosecution witnesses, additional public prosecutor Santosh Chourasia told reporters.

The prosecutor said that Jain, in a premeditated move, had sent his son out for some work and then sexually assaulted his daughter when there was nobody else at their house on December 9, 2014.
