A married tribal woman was allegedly gangraped and dumped in the jungles of Bangonda near Mhow on Monday.
She was found unconscious (with some injuries on her face and head) by the Bangonda police and was admitted to MY Hospital.
On Tuesday night, when the woman gained consciousness, she alleged that her neighbour, along with two others, had raped her and tried to kill her. The accused also tried to bludgeon her face.
According to police, the woman, a resident of Manpur area had left her in-laws place on September 11 to visit a nearby market. "Sunil, one of the accused, offered her lift on his motorcycle and brought him to a village in Bangonda. Then according to the victim, the accused raped her many a times along with his two other friends," said TI Bandgonda, PS Kanoje while talking to Hindustan Times.
The in-laws of the woman had also lodged a missing case with the police on September 18 after she failed to return for several days and she was not located at her mother’s house.
According to the woman’s statement to the police, Sunil had tied him with a rope and raped her several times.
"The victim is yet to gain complete consciousness but as per her initial statement given to the police, the accused had given her some drugs and repeatedly raped her in a room in Bangonda. A few days back, they tried to kill her and then dumped her in the interiors of Bangonda jungle," said the TI Kanoje.
Police are raiding various spots to arrest Sunil and his two other friends involved in the rape. Meanwhile, the victim is recuperating in MY hospital and a case has been registered.
