State urban administration and development minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said the income tax department should reveal what action it has taken with regard to his son's companies.
Talking to a regional TV news channel on Friday, he said, "My son did no wrong. He is doing business and is a contractor."
On Wednesday, income tax department had carried out survey of Surya Infrastructure, a construction company run by Akash Vijayvargiya and impounded its documents. The company office is situated in Nanda Nagar, the locality where Vijayvargiya family resides.
Akash Vijayvargiya’s another company Shreenath Infrastructure, situated in Palasia area, was also surveyed. Some documents were recovered from Shreenath Infrastructure office as well.
The department survey at Akash Vijayvargiya’s premises followed income tax searches carried out at five highway and road construction companies, including Prakash Asphalting & Toll Highway (PATH) Pvt Ltd. Surya Infrastructure is sub-contractor of PATH Pvt Ltd, according to department officials.
During the search, Akash’s name figured in the documents seized from the premises of PATH and other companies.
