Furnishing "false information" by 390 government school teachers under e-attendance system in Indore district may cost them dear as Indore zila panchayat chief executive officer ordered department to issue show cause notice to them for the same.

Teachers may face suspension or criminal case against them.
Notably large chunk of government school teachers in Indore division is unhappy over new directives of department to download web-based ‘e-attendance’ application and have moved court.
The directive aimed to track the location of the teachers with the help of an android-enabled global positioning system (GPS).
Meanwhile, teachers said the move will incur a financial burden on them. Teachers are unhappy that the application is only for android mobile, which requires internet connection to run.
“What will happen to teachers who do not have android phone or if there is no network available in the area where the teacher is posted?” Bharat Sharma, a government school teacher said.
“We are concerned about the recurring financial burden on the teachers,” he added. Teachers are not against e-attendance, but against purchase of android phones, said State Adhyapak Sangh president Bharat Bhargava.
