The police in Indore on Saturday said a few eyewitnesses had emerged in the case and description of people Kavita Raina was seen with before she went missing on August 23 was being prepared.
Sources said the investigation have received a much-needed boost with the eyewitnesses coming forward. Also, a broad timeline of how the grisly murder was committed and how her body was dumped has also been prepared by the police.
"We are almost clear about how the murder took place. We are still trying to be sure of all those who might be behind the crime. Quizzing in this regard is going on," DIG Santosh Kumar Singh told Hindustan Times.
Kavita Raina, a resident of Mitra Bandhu Nagar under Kanadia police station, was murdered, chopped up into pieces and dumped into a nullah near Teen Imli. Her remains were discovered in two gunny bags on Wednesday.
The police quizzed her husband Sanjay Raina for more than seven hours and spoke with his friend Manish Acharya and his brother-in-law.
On Friday night, the used sniffer dogs in areas suspected to be linked with the murder. However, the missing Honda Activa of the victim continues to elude the police.
"As soon as we get the accused, we would trace the murder weapon and Honda Activa," said a senior police official.
Meanwhile, DIG Santosh Kumar monitored the recreation of crime scene on Saturday and is also keeping close tabs on the interrogations. BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya visited the Raina household on Saturday and assured the family that the culprits would soon be caught.
