Four people were injured when Dewas MLA and former minister Tukoji Rao Puar’s son and his supporters allegedly opened fire on Wednesday over a land dispute at Raghogarh village in Barotha area of Dewas district.

Police have lodged a case against MLA’s son Vikram Singh Puar and 15 others.

Police said Lodhi community members had occupied the MLA’s land and sown wheat. Vikram and his supporters went there to harvest the crop. Both sides entered into an altercation and a supporter of Vikram’s opened fire. Lodhi community members then started throwing stones at Vikram’s men.

Leeladhar Lodhi alleged that Vikram also opened fire, but the police are yet to confirm this.

Superintendent of police Abhay Singh said senior police officers, including SDOP, reached Raghogarh after the incident.
