The state cabinet on Monday gave its nod to create 5,000 posts of different cadres in the police department and opened 20 airstrips for aero sports to promote tourism.
The cabinet meeting that concluded in 15 minutes had eight proposals on its agenda.
The posts will be created under the Police Integrated Force Augmentation Scheme.
Out of 5,000 posts, 1,876 belong to the constable rank, 1,015 to the rank of head constable and 581belong to the rank of assistant sub-inspector. Remaining posts consist of law officers and stenographers.
The cabinet gave permission to conduct aero sports activities at 20 airstrips.
These airstrips include Neemuch, Ratlam, Khargone, Khandwa, Shivpuri, Guna, Tekanpur, Sagar(Dhana), Satna, Sidhi, Rewa, Chhindwara, Ujjain (Datana), Jhabua, Birwa (Balaghat), Pachmarhi, Umaria, Seoni, Mandla and Datia (under construction).
The cabinet also sanctioned creation of two posts of DIG (Jails), one post of superintendent central jail, three posts of drivers, two of stenographers, one of assistant grade-3 and three posts of peon in jail department.
The cabinet also decided to extend the period of state-level nodal officer for the office of the chief electoral officer from April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2020.
