Fearing ‘social boycott and humiliation’ for her family, a 23-year-old Bachelors of Technology student, who was allegedly sexually exploited by her friend and three others, withdrew her police complaint.
On Friday, a day after she registered a complaint against the four accused here at Chimanganj police station, the student and her father reached the police station and requested police officials to withdraw her complaint.
The key accused Karan Sisodiya and two of his friends Kaushik alias Chottu Verma and Tushar Khatri alias Sonu, who were arrested by the police on Thursday, confessed that they sexually exploited the girl and made an MMS on her.
The fourth accused in the case Piyush Rajput is on the run and the police have launched a manhunt.
According to the police, the student and her father reached the police station on Friday and told additional superintendent of police Asit Yadav that if the case was taken up in a court, it would bring more agony to the family and requested that the police complaint be withdrawn.
Though the police assured them that they would not be affected in any way by the case, they refused to help in the investigation.
Additional superintendent of police Yadav told them the matter would be settled in the court as the accused trio had already confessed to their crime and the police would produce them in the court.
“We have concrete evidence against the four accused and the court will now decide their fate,” additional superintendent of police Yadav said. On Friday, a police team visited the scene of crime and seized the motorcycle, video camera and mobile phones of the accused, which were used in the crime.
The additional superintendent of police added that Piyush’s father ran a video recording shop in the town.
